2017-2018

Cyber Warfare

This project was made with Unreal Engine 4 and is an attempt create a playable model of cyber warfare for use as an educational tool.

2016 - 2017

Updraft

The final result of the Collaborative Games Development project in Unreal Engine 4. I worked on the glider, player controller, game mode and interact-able assets, such as the thermals. I also created the functionality for the user interface.

Fighter Command App

A less paper reliant app for tracking your data while playing my Battle of Britain wargame Fighter Command.

2015 - 2016

Oh Ship

The final build of the Collaborative Games Development project. As well as setting up the game mode and player controller, I also worked on the checkpoint system, port capture system, traps and pick ups. My main focus of the project was the enemy ships' AI. I was able to make hostile ships sail alongside the player and fire broadsides, allowing for cannon reloading.

In-game UI

This project focused on creating in-game user interface elements for an existing project. Features included designs for stat bars, prompts, a tutorial, inventory system and a shop. Functionality for interact-able objects to bind to the UI was already in place and I had to utilise this to add my designs. UI features such as the information boxes I had to set up myself.

Network Game

This Advanced 3D Engines project was focusing on the creation of a network multiplayer game, with the efficient replication of relevant data.

Main Menu

For this project, I created a main menu system to utilise one of three themed designs I had created. The project allowed me to practice the creation of widgets for menus and improving them by adding media and animations.

Mac Man
Naval Combat

This team project was to create a table-top naval combat game, hence the name, for ship-to-ship combat in the age of sail. My focus was on creating the mechanics of the game, which involved the simplification of effects of cannon-fire on ships through the use of damage components cards. These presented various parts of the ship that were damaged during an attack.

You're F***ed! The Space Game

This team project was to create a not-so-serious science-fiction themed card game in the style of Cards Against Humanity or Bucket of Doom. Players take the role of a star-ship captain attempting to deal with a variety of life-threatening scenarios, by putting forward their plans to deal with the situation using their crew members and assorted items. My role was to create a crew system that allowed the use of crew members to achieve player versus player effects, such as stealing another player's crew member. I also determined how certain types of crew members would modify the rewards from different scenarios.
